Also, is the Polynesian Cultural Center worth a visit?
We tend to be leery of outfits that advertise EVERYWHERE, so we've never been. It's run by the Mormon Church, which is not to say it might not be worth a visit, but the whole schtick looks very canned to us. Others may have first-hand knowledge.

We did enjoy the Art Museum in downtown HNL, (on Beretania?) although didn't have time for everything in it by any means.

Dining - at Haleiwa, there's also Jameson's as well as Haleiwa Joe's. We've had good meals at both, but the Smoked Ono at Joe's is one of my husband's favorite things. Also, their fresh fruit dessert was Wonderful. Split it. Don't eat at the Turtle Bay Hilton, but the poolside terrace bar is great for sundowners, and then you can go back to Haleiwa for dinner.

If you like sushi, be sure and try Poke (at Sam Choy's or Haleiwa Joe's). veryvery good.
As for authentic Hawaiian food: spam. Really.

For West Maui:
there's also Roy's Kahana Bar & Grill (808-669-6999) and Sansei (808-669-6286) in Kapalua - both excellent.

The info on the above mentioned Hali`imaile General Store is 900 Hali`imaile Rd, Hali`imaile (808-572-2666).

If you're driving to/from Wailea or Kahului from/to West Maui, there's a place at Maalaea, where the road turns around the base of the mountains, right on the marina called (somebody's) Wharf. A good place to stop if you're tired of crawling in a long line of traffic, or even if the traffic is ok. Not gourmet, but tasty.

And before I end, I have a question. Why is OGG, um, OGG? We were told it was something to do with alphabetic designation of navigation (naval?) stations across the Pacific but as we were on the plane enjoying our bubbly when I asked, the details didn't stick. Perhaps as an airport person, you can get the full story and let me know.

Have a great time! Now we want a big trip report when you get back, right?
