According to all studies I have seen, the A380 has objectively less cabin noise than any 747. A lot of the noise inside comes from the air conditioning and not from the engines. But I guess the individual perception can still be different.

The design is not the work of Gucci but of Australian designer Marc Newson. So he is responsible for all the plastic. And if you are worried about the interior made out of plastic, just wait until the 787/A350XWB will be in service.
