Back in August, I got a call from Marriott Vacation Club for the Aruba location. They were offering five nights for $499. I was able to get eight nights in a two bedroom for about $1100. I was very specific about the dates as it had to match my daughters school vacation ( 4/6 - 4/14). A friend made the same deal for his family so we could travel toether. I then redeemed 120,000 Aadvantage points for five tickets, as did my friend. After a month or so, I called back Marriott as I had not rceived a confirmation, although my credit card had been charged. I was assured all was in order, and I would receive my confirmation soon. I called again after another month, same song and dance. Now Marriott calls and tells me that those dates are not available as they never make firm reservations that far in advance. I have made numerous follow up calls, but only get voice mail and no callbacks. Is there a Marriott lurker on the board ? Does anyone have any suggestions ? A am really steamed about this. At this date, I have very few choices as most resorts are booked for those dates. I also would have to pay AA $160. to redeposit the miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
