A few other things come to mind about this subject, paradocs. Remember that these salespeople earn their income on commisions. They are going to paint the rosiest picture about all the things you can do with your timeshare. These might include being able to sell your timeshare, allthough you will very rarely, if ever, be able to recover your initial investment. About the children thing, I remember the same pitch. I live only 20 minutes from my property. It was exciting for the first 3 or 4 years, but my kids have outgrown the novelty of being able to swim any time they want, and now that they are 20 and 18 , they have expressed no interest on taking over our weeks when the time comes. Situations do change over time, so it is very important to weigh these items when making the final decision. I am not anti timeshare, in fact I am on the board of directors at my own resort. I have had wonderful vacations over the years, and probably wouldn't have done it if not for the ability to exchange. I just thought that expressing some of the pro's and con's from my own experiences would be helpful in making your decision.
