BTW, perhaps semantic, but the lounge at HNL was never officially a 'Maple Leaf Lounge'... it was simply referred to as an Air Canada Lounge. Interestingly, while AC shared it with JAL, it was not an official 'Sakura Lounge' either, but just called a JAL lounge.
Actually, for a while there was one. After 9.11 AC took over a bar a few meters down from its gate and used it for a makeshift MLL during the hours that its flights did the "cross-over" around midnight. Before that, of course, CP operated a very classic albeit small Empress Club hosted over by a lovely matronly Hawaiian woman. Visited it many, many times but my memory cannot retrieve her name...
