An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, flight AC-648 from Halifax,NS to St. John's,NL (Canada) with 87 people on board, aborted the approach to runway 11, requested vectors due to a problem and subsequently declared PAN while on a right downwind for another approach to runway 11, extended the downwind and finally reported while turning final, that they solved the problem and didn't need any assistance now reporting, that they had had a gear disagree message. The airplane landed safely with emergency services on standby 17 minutes after aborting the first approach.
