Finally, I did KLM.com and VOILA!! I changed my seat, and it STUCK!! It even shows up on my NWA.com reservaiton!! The only potential problem I see is that I know AF doesn't allow ANY exit row seats assigned til at the airport, but I snagged 33B on the A343! Looks like a good seat! Does anyone think this seat will hold til July?
On a side note, it's a summer trip to Europe for July 2010 that I booked on Sept 30, the day before the WP/SM merger - and it ticketed the same day! Usually, for trips that far in advance, ticketing wasn't done for weeks, sometimes, making me think that they pushed through tickets before the changeover to avoid potential problems after the merge.
Exit row can be tricky. Usually everything I do on klm.com sticks ... but Exit row is dangerous. AF sometimes does assign exit row seats ex-CDG already from the outstations, so check when you checkin to make sure it is still there. I was surprised AF in TXL could reserve 65A for me on the 747 without having to wait for the lottery in CDG.
