Does it have to be the same fare class, too? It seems like it would be to prevent someone from booking Y and then claiming a GARR to change to a T.

What about in the rare event (a fare sale of massive proportions...as if that's ever likely to happen on AS ) that you buy a T fare but a K or even H (haha) drops to below the T fare (but T class is then sold out)?
