Thanks for confirming all my other posts about Marriott. It is shocking to think that the San Diego Marriott Suites really jacked up their rates. But it is San Diego and you will find most of the hotels booked for miles around. There is a Shortage of rooms. The Suites is located downtown and close to the now expensive and busy Gaslight area full of dining and drinking. One of the few cities, where a lot of good stuff is happening in the downtown area all week long. Plus the mass transportation of Close by Railroads up the coast, and the Trolley down the coast to Tijuana. As well as the ship terminals down the street, the marina, and the only city with a downtown airport! Even if it has only 1 runway!

But that isn't the end of the story. Wait until the new Baseball stadium is finished near the Marina and convention center. The Marina Marriott is going to go crazy with their rates for the tiny rooms in a former Intercontinental Hotel. You see it is all within walking distance.
