This justification is always entertaining. You're paying 3-4x the fare for a taxi. I realize it's not alot of money but you're still paying more with little to no return on the extra.
As always, spend how you desire, but all you're proffering is 'so I waste a little bit more money'.
For THB2000 or so you can get jetway meet-and-greet, golf cart, vip immigration, luggage assistance and transfer into clean and comfortable vehicle with cold towels and chilled water. And any additional services desired as well, e.g. on my last arrival the driver had picked up a sim card for me (I paid separately at cost).
So yeah this is more than a taxi, it's a different experience also, and we all are looking to buy different things. One of the really great things about the world, actually ^
