I came away after pondering the changes as well. I want SWU's and I can get those on any star alliance carrier for they earn EQM's too. The only thing we would be missing out is the 100%RDM bonus (although LH gives that on transatlantic) and lifetime BIS miles.

Interesting possibilities.
