The value is good (for me at least) but this is really up to you.
If don't plan to vacation anytime soon or this "free" Hyatt nights comes with a lot of extra costs (airfare, car, babysitter etc) you don't want to incur then you are just throwing your money away.
Marriott offered me stay twice get a one free night recently and even though I could make a couple $60 stays nearby I passed on it. I don't care about Marriott and redeeming that night would just add to the expense of earning it.
Likely it was only up to a Category 4 of 8 level of hotels and it also probaly expired on 12/31/09. Futhermore, only 1 such free night could be earned per participant. Hyatt's promotion is in another universe.
