Saying that the PMU is "weak" is really a YMMV type situation as to what is it you expect from a PMU. They are not designed to give someone an upgrade as a reward "per se" when flying a "discount coach" fare. If a FT'er is someone that flies full fare coach (for whatever reason), then PMU is actually not a bad gig. The inventory can be tricky to find and book with them, so one has to do some homework. Moreover, they were not day of departure good until recent program changes that will be implemented will fix this. Hence, this is the reason some FT'ers complain about them. As noted, many on this Forum really like them.

IHMO, I think that is actually both. Competition with DL and harmonization with CO.

Finally, I want to extend my appreciation and thanks for everyone that has participated in this thread. It has been generally devoid of bashing anyone and has had excellent analysis and debate. This Forum deserves a big ^^^^
