Hey not all of us are planning to go to tropical destinations with our FFNs -- at least in the short term! I guess we take this view as we also have a condo in FLL near the beach, and will be there for a week while the prices for Hyatt properties elsewhere plummet during Turkey week -- would have loved to get some of those sub - $50 rates, but had to content myself with the FFL north at a $63.00 rate for an every other day "breakfast run."

In ay event, my spouse and i have vacationed many times in Europe during winter, and although summer is preferable, winter has its own dynamic with fewer crowds, sales going on (though with the weaker dollar, this is less attractive than years past) and many cultural events ongoing. London has a great number of excellent museum exhibtions going on this winter, but as for us, it is to Berlin that we go -- having never been there -- and you might see us celebrating at the Brandenburg Gate on New Year's Eve.

Not to mention that the nearby Marriott Berlin is on reduced awards for most of the days there, except those leading up to NYE, so you know where we will be on those nights!
