I have a few millions of AP points in my account and because I want to maintain my SE status with AC, we only fly a couple of long-hauls a year on AP points. My plan was to use the points after our retirement, when my credit card bills won't give me so many AP points. I'm sure a lot of FTers would like to save the points for retirement too. I'm surprised there wasn't a huge uproar here when they announced the 7-year expiration rule.
