Wow, thanks for that tip. As a matter of fact, I'm just on my way out of town and I have an Avis rental for this evening. I called Avis again and the CSR confirmed that I would not be able to get my rental car as long as the other contract was still open! So finally got it closed out ($9.17) and I should be good for my rental tonight.
