I am curious about this AfterBurner... since you say that you ALWAYS buy J class.. and since paid J class on any carrier will get you lounge access, what makes you keep your loyalty to them now? However, since you'll make SE next year, you'll get guarantee seats for paid J, so it'll not be a problem for you anymore
Well, I don't always buy J class. I upgrade when I can. Most of my travel is last minute, so I'm usually forced to pay full fare. I'd be a total idiot to pay for a J ticket when I can use coupons with an economy fare (depending, of course, on the fare differential).

I do always (with a very small number of exceptions) sit in J and I won't risk an unconfirmed upgrade. If I can't confirm it, I'll pay for it.

So the upgrade benefit is an important one to me. In addition, I like the companion ticket (buy one get one free) award.

Does SE get you guaranteed revenue J seats?? I thought this only applied to economy seats.
