CO probably never would have wanted to sell an IAH-HNL itinerary for $450 r/t, but they were willing to do it for passengers from MSY, where there is more competition for 1-stops to HNL. Letting you "around" the repricing would be opening up a huge loophole in their pricing structure.

Actually they do. Flying to MSY was $100 more expensive than flying to IAH (seems there are some pretty good cheap fares IAH-HNL going on right now).

Anyway, was trying to fly to MSY on Saturday, but seems everything is sold out (CO and Southwest are all soldout on Fri afternoon and Sat). Is there an event or something going on in New Orleans this weekend?

I was able to find a multistop flying to Dallas and Atlanta on Sat. Stupid itinerary, I better drive.
