(Seat 43H is right in front of the galley curtain and just stretching your legs straight will take them to the galley). The food was really bad and the portions small. There were no drinks runs by the FAs after the meal service until the breakfast service, and when I asked for an orange juice in the middle of the night the FA didn't seem eager the serve me.
The bulkhead seats are indeed not a great place to be. The centre and windows seats have very small legroom and the aisles seats have the problem that you will always have a chart or other people run over you if you stretch your leg. Also due to the tray being in the arm rest the width of the seat is narrower than normal. By the way, if you are flying KL often, then you should be used very narrow seats. They have the same issue at the exit rows of the 747s but they are one of the few carriers who is putting 10 seats across a 777 giving them the smallest seat of almost all airlines.
Why the drink service was non existent is beyond comprehension to me. You should always have enough to drink on such a long flight and this is just poor service.
In regards to the portion size, it has been a long time since I have flown LH Y long haul. But I know that usually I was able to ask for and get a second meal if I was still hungry. Usually an easy solution.
