I want to thank all of you wonderful FTers that took the time to respond to my question. Many of you have made an excellent suggestion to book early in the FFN process-perhaps using points and then convert to FFN when they become open. Next time around, that is what I will do-I feel kinda stupid that I waited until I had earned the nights and then started the reservation process...Oh well-Live and Learn-I think I am too linear in my thinking sometimes-not creative enough.
And I do agree that the program is very generous and that it would be unviable if they didn't operate it the way they do. Having said that, I do wish that the Diamond Desk at Hyatt could atleast waitlist a person rather than simply have them call each day to find out if a night has opened up. I would be happy spending 2 nights at PH and the other two at CDG. From some of the other posts, it appears that folks may have booked FFNs prior to actually earning them, in which case Feb 29 could maybe open up some nights (Doubt it)--but CSR at Diamond desk suggested I just keep calling..
lala--any recommendations on a good hotel that is reasonably priced...would be great!
By the way what do you guys think of Hyatt CDG and access to city??
I am thinking of redeeming Starwood Points to stay at Trianon Palace in Versailles rather than CDG..Any thoughts??
