A couple of workouts to report from over the weekend. We were traveling for a wedding so it was a little tough to get workouts in, but I managed.

Saturday before the ceremony I did a weights session at the hotel gym and a 10k pace run on the treadmill. 6.20 miles, 44:44 total time or 7:12/mile average pace.

Sunday we traveled back from the wedding but I got to the gym at night to do a fastish 10 miler on the treadmill. 10.20 miles, 1:09:31 total time, 6:48/mile pace average pace.

Monday I did an easy 3 mile recovery run on the treadmill at 9:30/mile pace. Also did a lengthy weight session.

Today I decided to make this a challenging day, so I ran to the track instead of driving, as I sometimes do. 3 miles there plus 3 miles back mean that today is a relatively high mileage day. That's ok, however, since there and back are really slow warm-up/cooldown miles.

Scheduled to do 10x800s at Yasso pace (6:20/mile for me or 3:10 per 800). Anyway, the 800s were going well until about #3 or 4 when I noticed the soccer team people setting up for a game. They started blocking off parts of the track for the cameras, announcers, etc. I knew I only had a few 800s left on the track before I would be completely blocked. I managed to get 6 in total on the track before having to take it to the nearby neighborhoods.

The last 3 repeats were a little all over the place as the conditions were more variable (some where uphill, some downhill, etc.), but I got them all in. I'm pleased with the results:

9: 3:11
10: 3:04

Totals: 13.27 miles, 2:00:22 total time, 9:04/mile average pace including warmup and cooldown.
