A couple of questions building on the information above:
1 What time does BA check in open?
2 Is there anywhere to dump bags at the airport if the answer to 1 is 2.5 hours.
3 Anywhere worthwhile to head for a snack near the airport

Thanks
I did this route earlier this year. I am unsure of the exact opening time but it was open about 2.5 hours before departure which is when I got to check-in.
Re 3) Morgan's Harbour is easier than going into town; taxi drivers will probably try to gouge you.
Re 4) It is relatively high risk as I don't think it is possible to link up PNRs (or least I didn't find a way). Note that most (all?) flights marketed as direct HAV -> KIN actually stop in Montego Bay. Given BA has started (or is about to start?) flying there, it may be a better option. Also as of a few months ago, you can't book flights Air Jamaica flights to Cuba online - had to be done through a call centre that made BA look the perfect model of efficiency.
