I would add my vote (not that I have one) to those arguing against a change. Unlike some others, I think keeping the current system can be made into a positive for AA vis-a-vis the competition. Just look at the comments over on the UA board: It is clear that the vast majority of UA elites will be **worse off** under the new system. Consider:
1) UA domestic planes in general have very few first class seats - as few as 8 on transcon planes!
2) UA has a four level elite system, with GS above 1K (the latter being the equivalent of AA EXP).
Put these two factors together and it does not take a genius to figure out that there are going to be some happy GS folk, and a lot of unhappy 1K, 1P and 2P elites. If I were a UA non-GS elite, right now I would be considering a defection to AA....
