Good service aside, I think Hyatt is still the most generous program when it comes to crediting award stays and third-party reservation bookings, even the opaque booking rates. However, I think we should not expect the practice of awarding stay credit and points to opaque bookings to continue. In the long run, it may cause Hyatt to come up with stricter enforcement which may be detrimental to the program as a whole.
I stay on opaque rates sometimes, and in the cases I get a Hyatt, I don't insist on my benefits, even when I am fully entitled to. If every Diamond insists on arrival amenity, breakfast, points, stay credit, AND FFN credit for a cheap $30 Priceline rate, sooner or later Hyatt will have no choice but to impose similar measure like Starwood to limit benefits on rates booked on Hyatt.com only. It's not good news, but based on historic trends, it's very likely.....
Until then, I am enjoying my Diamond status which I earned, and enjoying the wonderful world-class new hotels.... Park Paris Vendome, Park Milan, and Park Tokyo, of which the former I had a wonderful stay at during Valentine's weekend in a fabulous suite. It was definitely a great place to impress your date -- the room service breakfast was heavenly. Thanks again, Hyatt.
