No. Your SPG points do not stay with your card. They are tranferred monthly to SPG and once they are transferred to SPG, they must be utilized within the SPG program. If hotels are not available in your areas of travel, I suggest you transfer your SPG points to your favorite FF program that has a 1:1 conversion rate. AA and DL both have a 1:1 conversion rate.
