Companion upgrades clear at the lowest level. So you and your wife would clear at the FO level, not the PM level. At that point there may not have been any upgrade seats available.
------Right, that is the program going forward. I was still talking about the prior program which seemed to still "work" as of my 10/9 flights but not my 10/16 flights.
I think one would be jumping to conclusions using one data point of a companion upgrade not clearing to assume the whole benefit has been eliminated.
