I have a SPG card I have had for 6 months. I want to convert it to Hilton Honors. The reason being is, the last 4 small weekend getaways we have taken there were no SPG properties. I am missing out on the chance to accumulate points. I guess normally I could plan a weekend getaway AROUND the SPG locations, but these particular getaways were situations where I was on business, and stayed the weekend with the wife so I had no say on the locale.

So, is it possible to convert from SPG to Hilton Surpass? If so, what happnes to the SPG points? If I have a balance, what happens to it during the conversion? I will only have a balance for 3 more weeks, I am just waiting to get reimbursed for business.
