I love how they make up these rules as they go along. I highly doubt that is the rule and if it is, then I would say United is potentially in violation ont placing the proper placards over this space and making an attempt to keep luggage out of it by placing a "blocker" of some sort over what would be perceived as the proper place to put luggage.

So is United going to admit they are in violation of improperly operating an airplane with out the necessary warnings and safety equipment?

I doubt it, because it's a made up rule by a flight attendant who I'm sure doesn't even hold a pilot's license. I love how people take their "positions of power" to the extreme. Anyway...it makes for a good laugh...Thanks for sharing!

But for the record - I've had a lot of very good flight attendants just trying to make everyone's life easier. And I've never been questioned about my luggage in that seat before. So I'm sure it's just a random FA who may not realize that flexing her muscles isn't the brightest thing to do.
