Night life wise do you think we'll miss out on the "NY feel" - is it really that easy to commute in the evening - have a drink say in manhatten and then come back and relax in hoboken (assuming that the area has some nice bars)..

Thanks again - looking forward to hearing back from you!!^
Hoboken does not have the NY feel. It is a cute/fun town, but does not have near the energy of Manhattan.. it feels more like a college town. Taking the PATH to Hoboken isn't hard, but I wouldn't say its completely convenient. Depends where you go out in Manhattan, but its going to take you at least 30 minutes to get home. After 1 drink early in the evening its not so bad, but coming back very late at night, after several drinks- it sucks.

There are plenty of nice bars in Hoboken all near the hotel. In fact, I believe Hoboken has the most bars per capita of any US city (have always heard this, don't know if its actually true).

Personally, if I was taking a friend to NY for the first time and I wanted the W experience, I'd take them to the W Union Square- hip hotel in a convenient area of town.
