Exactly why I changed mine to the local German street address as I approached 1MM (as
Efrem pointed out in his post) even though I've had an APO address since 1983.
Of course, doing so pretty much eliminated any chance of receiving special offers. I did, however, get an offer by mail for flights originating in Europe as well as an invitation to the FRA Admirals Club celebration. Other than that, it seems using an address on the economy pretty much drops you from the marketing department's mailing list.
