Hampton Inn & Suites Kokomo {US-IN}
Checked in today for a one-night stay and had already been upgraded to a nice king suite. The gold welcome gift is one bottle of water and a small package of Oreos. The desk agent invited me for two free drinks (pop, beer, wine) from 5:30-7:00 in the dining area; have never encountered this at a Hampton before.
The bedroom is separated from the living room by double doors and has a TV. I like the fact that the sink is separate from the bathtub and toilet. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, two-burner stove top, microwave, dishes and silverware, a few pots and pans, toaster, coffeemaker, package of popcorn, and storage drawers. A small island with two chairs divides the kitchen area from the front door. The living room has both a sofabed and chair/ottoman.
The business center has two computers and printers.
Breakfast is the standard HI fare, but the egg/cheese dish was surprisingly good. No sugarfree yogurt. And I don't remember seeing trays before.
The building looks fairly new (except for the tube TVs and CRT monitors in the business center) and is close to dozens of restaurants and a couple of malls. The front desk has an area map with shopping, restaurants, and other sites marked; I wish all hotels would do this. I was driving north on US 31 and missed the hotel since the sign is blocked by trees.
All in all, this would be a comfortable room and location for an extended stay. And a bargain at the $75 I paid.
