I witnessed this at JNB airport.

An AF flight was delayed and an old (French) lady started shouting at the check in person. Any way they eventually board the aircraft, however a bit later they say the plane has gone tech so everybody is off to a hotel. This lady is now in the departuer area and starts assaulting, hitting, a person organising the hotels.

Up step the police and she was arrested. Low and behold I was back at the airport and speaking to a person dealing with the situation and the South African police were so frustrated with her rude behaviour they weren't even prepared to charge her. They wanted rid of her and put her right back on the AF flight. AF didn't want her either so an argument between AF and the SA polie erupted over who will have to deal with her.

End of story is that SA police won and she was shipped home on the flight.
