Eastern U.S. in the sunny Florida :

Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando. very nice resort with a manmade lake and a golf course. resort fee gives you all watersports. several pools with lots of nooks and cannies. never shows up on Hotwire or Priceline. on last promo it requires $200 deposit to book FFN.

Coconut Point at Bonita Spring. but dont have high hope on the beach - it takes a boat shuttle to the beach which is not a big beach either. (occasionally shows up on Priceline for $75 to $100.)

Key West. it is like a time sharing. very conveniently located. if you like the funkiness of Key West, then the location is right at the heart of it.

Pier 66 at Ft. Lauderdale. Right next to the marina and Port Everglade. If you time right, you could see QM2 on 1/26-31. Nice resort. Not big. about 10 minutes cab ride to Ft. Lauderdale beach. (Available on Priceline between 79 to 100.)
