The problem there is that no alliance supposedly wants PAL. VN and even GA are getting into an alliance (or are in the process of getting into one) before PR is. Before long, I'm willing to bet PAL will be the only remaining major Southeast Asian carrier to not be in an alliance.

If I were to choose an alliance, then SkyTeam it should be. Keep PAL out of Oneworld!
