Just came back from a 2 night stay in NYC at each hotel.

The Grand Hyatt is such a dump. Yes, they are going to renovate the hotel sometime later this year. Until then: stay clear at all costs.

The rooms are dumpy and dingy. The sheets and linens are grungy. The amenities are limited. It just isn't a very nice hotel. Treatment of Diamonds is nothing special: very limnited upgrades. And, the Regency Club is OK, but nothing special.

On the other hand, the Stanhope is wonderful, super high quality everything, and exceptional treatment of Diamonds, including upgrades.
