There was definitely a period after the cradle-C launch where the PTVs were not present. I remember being excited to fly the new 777 in business and was exploring the new seat - phone, massager, recline etc. Could not find the TV. I asked the flight attendant "Where's the tv?" and was told - "There isn't one". Next trip I was on, there they were...
