A truly fine post. As a newcomer to Hyatt I've been incredibly impressed with how thoughtful and thorough the Platinum customer service line has been especially in comparison with the inevitable run-around received from all other hotel chains. However, I'm still a bit confused about just how much one may "stack" various bonuses, especially in regards to points vs. miles.

I am signed up for both "next big thing" and also the Southwest Airlines promotion (receive 2.5 bonus RR credits every 2nd stay). I realize that these will both work on my upcoming stays. However, the next couple stays also have Gx bonuses. If I take miles - in order to get the Southwest bonus - will I lose the Gx bonus because I didn't take points? A call to Hyatt CS seemed to say yes, but I was left a bit confused. Thanks in advance for the advice!
