Yes, this does work and I have used it. And the extra GP points are significant.

Hyatt ran this program last year and it also ended on June 30, so it must be a seasonal thing.

Thanks for posting this, because I had feared this promotion was gone for good!

I THINK (notice the big THINK) I found a way to get some more Gold Passport Points Per Stay. I am sorry if this has been discussed before or if this doesn't work. However I think it will.

Hyatt offers the chance on Hyatt.com or through the phone to order purchase Hyatt Check Certificates which are redeemable for a variety of Hyatt goods and services such as dining, golf fees, spa services, even toward lodging.

Recipients can use them for any eligible service managed by Hyatt at any Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide.

https://www.certificates.hyatt.com/C...rts.asp?navH=1

It's basically like cash but if you don't spend the amount on your certificate you don't get any money back. They offer it in 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, 500 dollar amounts but you can order ANY number of certificates in any amount. So go for the smaller amounts

They have a special promotion that is NOT listed on the website you would need to call them to verify this that until 'June' allows you to get 5 Hyatt Goldpassport points per dollar amount of certificate. So for example you buy 200 dollars of certificates you get 1000 points.

You get a reservation for 200 a night. You have 250 dollars worth of certificates and you already have the 1250 Points from your initial purchase of the Certificates. Your room bill comes to be $243.00 which a Basic Member would be earn 1215 Points. If you Pay for the room with the Certificates which can be used like 'cash' it would be a total of 2465 Points for this bill. If you are a PLAT or Diamond it would even be more. I guess this is like 'Double Dipping' for Points.

Like I said I have not tryed this (yet) but I might. The Promo where you get 5 GoldPass Port points for the Hyatt Gift Checks amount spent might end in 'June' the telephone rep. told me however she did say they might expand it. Good luck!!!
