AF gave him a hand written receipt to exchange both legs of the original AF ticket because their computers were down by that time (3 am). Next day he got 2 boarding passes from Lufthansa, gave them the AF receipt, and boarded the first leg of the LF flight. In Frankfurt on his second leg, he was refused boarding because they had no record of his reservation and refused to accept his boarding pass. Due to important business he had to make the flight. He had to buy another one way ticket to final destination. I contacted AF to ask for verification of this written receipt so I could send it to Luftansa. Air France reps on line keep saying their department can't handle this problem. Lufthansa says "We appreciate your feedback to our complaint department on line." I don't know where to turn, so I checked out your forum for advice. Tried to find e-mail for CEO of Lufthansa but only found his name. Credit card bill will be arriving soon and once I pay for the new ticket, that's that. Can't find any human beings to talk with at either airline. Can anyone give me any leads on how to proceed with this? Thanks for taking the time to read about this ill fated trip.
This is clearly a problem you need to discuss with AF. In which country are you based? You should talk to their customer service representatives rather than to their reservation line staff, but it should be fairly easy to sort out.
