APO Addresses - Does AA think I live in New York?
I recently moved to Germany and now have an APO address.
This type of address signifies that mail gets sent to me via the Military Postal Service agency, and the zip code starts with 09. The state code is "AE" for Armed Forces - Europe but in the past, the state code was NY. The address would have been APO, NY 09XXX.
I wonder if AA's computers are so antiquated that they read the zip code and think I live in New York. I changed my home airport to FRA, but now get offers in my inbox for cheap trips from New York. The NYDBL offer appeared on the bonus offers page, and I hadn't seen it there before (although I may have just missed it). I wonder if I should sign up just to see what would happen.
Anyone else have experience getting offers relevant to New Yorkers when changing your address with AA to an APO address?
