You might want to try the Sainte Claire in downtown San Jose.

It's not too bad really. They have an AAA rate of $119 with breakfast included at the Il Fornaio restaurant off the lobby -- its a truly wonderful breakfast, and a good restaurant for dinner/room service as well. For those who are Diamonds, the fruit basket they give me is a pretty large wrapped thing so I usually take it to my Mom.

Some of the rooms are beautiful with fireplace, sitting area, etc. Standard rooms are fine. Free wireless throughout the hotel (USB port required).

And they'll give gym passes to a pretty nice club a few blocks away as well.

I take back what I said in another thread about South Bay Hyatts all being crappy.. The Sainte Claire is ok.
