I like this hotel. I only had one stay (Nov 2002), but would return if I was travelling alone. I don't mind the long haul into the center of town. I think it would be better in the cold and rain than in the heat.
I requested a suite during my weekend stay and was not offered one (I had a coupon I wanted to use). I don't think they have many suites.
Your room sounded very much like mine. I didn't care for the room layout very much, but the bathroom was great.
I loved the breakfast and the tea service and the room service was pretty great. The bad thing was the room didn't have a very nice desk area. I would find it hard if I was trying to work. I would gravitate to the bed and we know that is a bad thing.
Also, there was no real guide to Brussels, the hotel or the amenities in the area. I pointed this out to the staff and they said to refer to the elle article. That is not acceptible if you are trying to find the number of your airline or a cab service.
One bad thing that turned out well. I was slated for a 11 am check out, the maid service came by at 9 and basically made me evacuate my room. I left quickly and didn't do the idiot check. Turns out I left my favorite shirt on the top shelf of the very lovely armoire thing. It was fresh from the cleaners and the hallway was dark, so it was easy to miss. Didn't realize I forgot it until I was somewhere between LHR and JFK. The Diamond desk arranged called the hotel and they located the shirt and sent it to me in Seattle.
Nice service-- and Hyatt has won me over for life.
