I prefer to travel alone, so it's convenient my husband doesn't like to travel. You do meet a lot more people that way.
My wife and I have enough different interests so we have no trouble splitting up when we get where we're going. In the modern age of mobile phones it's simple to call or send an SMS and meet for lunch or dinner, etc.
