Any type of gift cheque or gift card, whether purcased with cash or you have used your Marriott Rewards points are considered 'cash tender'. You should receive credit for stays that have been paid for with all gift cheques, even if they were obtained by using your points.

If you purchase gift cards, you do not receive Marriott Reward points, but when using them you should always receive credit for a qualified stay.
