I stopped by to check this resort out last weekend and although I didn't stay there, out of my price range and can't use PL for work I wanted to see the property. It was nice but I'm not sure it gave me a burning desire to be in BF Egypt. I guess golfers might enjoy it but since I don't golf, it didn't do anything for me
As for the DT ABQ property, I have completed my four stays for the Diamond promo and must say that the rooms I've been given have been decent but not great although I didn't expect anything with just Gold status. I do like their gym. I was able to get my GP1000 bonus on 3 of the 4 stays, the woman who checked me in was not the brightest bulb in the box so I always counted on the gentleman at check out to add it correctly.
Their parking situation can be manipulated. Basically, they charge $8 per night without any in and out privledges. $11 if you want in and out privledges. the front desk gives you a pass to go in and out. You can't charge the $8 rate to your folio but you can the $11 go figure. However that was to my advantage. Since DT ABQ is a ghost town after 5:00 p.m. What you would do is park on the street till you are sure you won't need your car for the rest of the night. Then take the $8 rate. The process works as you take a ticket upon entry and give it back at the booth upon departure the next day. However if you leave early (before 6:30 a.m.) there isn't anyone at the boot and it automatically opens the gate when you arrive at the booth.
This is also listed as a regency hotel but it doesn't have a regency club lounge any more, It used to I'm told but no longer is available. This was a disappointment.
I was always under the impression (and incorrectly so) that a Hyatt Regency Property had a regency club.. guess not...
are there other regency hotels in this situation?
