Well at least the front desk manager didn't lie to you and tell you there were no other rooms available in the entire hotel. I offered to even pay for an upgrade so I wouldn't be soo close to the street. He told me there was nothing available, although when I ended up going on their website they had every type of room available to book for that evening. When I called him back to ask him about that I was sent to his voicemail and he never returned my call.
