With On My Way, and this has been a personal experience, you ring a special telephone no. It was picked up within 3 rings with a live person. I was offered a choice of AC on the next day or WS on the same evening. Yes, the programme will buy a ticket to fly me home on WS or a long list of other airlines (although the choices are somewhat limited for Canada, a lot more if travelling to/from the US). I chose AC. The agent went on to book a hotel room for me and told me to take a taxi to the hotel. I was given a credit to the credit card that I used to purchase my ticket for meals (dinner and breakfast), the taxi transportation and hotel. The meals and taxi fare were on a flat rate basis and the hotel was exactly the same rate as their contract rate with the hotel. “One Stop Shopping” - Very easy and simple.

I did NOT have to queue at the AC ticket counter. I did NOT have to ring AC reservation. I had a choice of other airlines to fly home. I had no AC staff to deal with.

You are in effect at the very top priority of the queue and may even be ahead of the SE’s.

IMHO On My Way is excellent value if you’re travelling in the winter or very time sensitive.
I suppose, but the cost of OMW is prohibitive IMO and in my experience, using the Elite telephone number (agree, not available to all), I get through fairly quickly and get dealt with reasonably well even during crazy delays and shutdowns through YYZ, YOW, YHZ, YYT, etc. I've never had the three days till a flight problem, but it could be on account of status.
