You really had nothing to worry about. Although the published upgrade windows are at 5/3/1 days out for Plat, Gold, Silver respectively, there are automated upgrade "sweeps" that run periodically in the days leading up to a flight to ensure that people are getting upgraded at the appropriate times. You would have been picked up for the upgrade, if available, soon enough.

As for the ticket not being issued within 24 hours, that does happen sometimes and isn't really anything to be concerned about. If it's not ticketed within a few days before the flight, you might call and ask about having it manually ticketed, but this delay happens sometimes when there is high volume and ticket issues must be prioritized.

Glad it all worked out in the end, though.
