I've planned all my trips for the rest of the year (including 2 to nowhere - just to get miles). This past Monday I was supposed to fly TUS-ORD-MIA (routed that way for the miles) but there was a mechanical with the TUS-ORD flight which made it so I couldn't make the connection. I was rerouted through DFW. I asked for ORC but was told they can't do that anymore. Anyway - gate agent manager was REALLY NICE and called someone to put it in my record. He indicated to me if I was short qualifying by the number of miles (I think he indicated up to 1000 but with the double mile promotion it's actually 1400) they would give it to me. I'm still nervous on that. I got home and computed my mileage for the rest of the year and although I should make EXP okay (my first time....so excited!!!!) I will miss the bonus by 5 miles. I wrote to Aadvantage customer service but haven't heard back. I'd hate to lose the bonus for 5 miles that were lost through no fault of my own. (Of course - I was willing to overnight and fly the original routing the next day but they were eager to get me to my destination and,...within 10 minutes of the original scheduled time.) Do I stand a chance in getting the bonus without another flight?
