An Air Canada Boeing 777-200, registration C-FNNH performing flight AC-33 from Toronto,ON to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 280 people on board and further on to Sydney,NS (Australia), was enroute at FL380 near Regina,SK (Canada), when an electric burning smell was observed in the passenger cabin and several inflight entertainment screens shut down with loud pops. The source of the smell was located in a piller between business and economy class. The inflight entertainment system was shut down entirely and the flight continued to Vancouver without further incident.

The Canadian TSB reported, that the seat electronic box of the inflight entertainment system needed to be replaced.

The airpane continued the flight to Sydney and reached Sydney with a delay of just 22 minutes.
Wonder how many IFE comp cards they gave out.
